The Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem celebrated God's deliverance of His people. Against the backdrop of this feast the people were divided as Jesus presented truth statements about who he was. Jesus testified against evil and his truth statements point out that He was sent from the Father. He promised that those who were thirsty who believed in him would would be satisfied with living water.
